A Penny for the Gas

Alice Reynolds was born in 1916; she has had, and continues to enjoy, a long and interesting life.  In her nineties, she is still extremely active and is an inspiring example to those of us who are much younger, but struggle to keep up!

Her biography, “A Penny for the Gas,” throws much light on how, whilst growing up in Brighton – and later, throughout her adult life – she developed her positive and indomitable spirit.  Alice has known both hard times and joyful periods in her life; she has had four husbands and seven children – all still living – and, as Alice says: “Life is what you make it!”
