A Penny for the Gas

£5.99

By Alice Reynolds

Alice Reynolds was born in 1916, and remained extremely active well into her nineties; she was a shining example to people much younger, but who could struggle to keep up with her!

Following Alice’s success with her first publication, “The Beginner’s Book of Cooking for Arthritis,” she was inspired to write her autobiography, “A Penny for the Gas.”

Alice led a long and interesting life, and her description of growing up in Brighton throws much light on how she developed her positive attitude and forged her indomitable spirit. Alice knew both hard times and joyful periods in her life; she had four husbands and seven children and, as Alice always said, “Life is what you make it!”
